Ah yes; I am quite familiar with that short list - Lund, isn't it? I'm not sure I recall correctly. Since I was first introduced to it -- from a military librarian, as it happens -- I've found it's solid truth, and it's now my motto. I don't always execute to the best of my ability, however.

Without the mindset to USE the skillset(s) you've learned, it matters NOT what gear you have available to you. Invest in them, in the correct order however and your probability of succeeding just got a major force multiplier.

I have a break-open Predecessor to the Savage model 24, that was stored for YEARS aboard a Saltwater Sailboat. Lotsa rust on outer surfaces, broken Selector (fires BOTH the .22Lr, AND the .410 Barrels), but is fine/clean inside. Was a gift, Years ago from a NAVY buddy. Might be a Game getter, but I don't think it would be a good "Front Door" shooter.

Did NEF ever make one in 10Gauge? (OWW!)

something came to my attention friday i had to think about. went for a bullshit doc appointment, rolled in clean clothes and a mask, turns out N Charleston PD is doing checks at the entrances of MUSC (covid) ( made me think first who pays that bill, city or hospital) but what grabbed my radar, was the questions on my attire. "why are you dressed like that" (like that being pocket OD tee shirt , it was clean and top of the drawer, woodland BDU winterweight pants and black polished boots with a ballcap and black neck garter)
didnt just have to answer covid questions, but had a contents of pocket check (buffalo tooth caused a few more questions) and i answered his question cordially, reason for wearing, 1. all that will fit right now, swelling in lower back and these are adjustable,2 hunting season in SC open right now, 3. they came out of the dryer first.
only answer as to the why, i was asked, "people are kinda nervous about that right now"
reason didnt hit till i thought about it and dug the story back up........
