Rounded up walmart bags and wax to make machinable wax for lost wax casting. Finally used up the last batch, so it's time for more. If there's interest, I'll post a thread on it next week.

240Geezer, have you thought of putting together that pedestal to hold frangible targets like overripe cantelope or watermelon, for letting the kids shoot the .223s?
No shooting on this lil 2acre property. Need 450 ft of separation from dwellings. Missed it by the proverbial BCH. 🙁

GAMOs (from a sample size of ONE) have Terrible Triggers. My Hunter/Stalker has 1100FPS with light lead pells, and 1200+ with the PBA pells, so the "Silencer" is basically Useless, until You select Pellets above 6 Grains or so. Inert Gas "Spring" is great, but how long willit last?

My 1975 Fienwerkbau 124 Has a Great trigger, but only about 900FPS. Have only put Breech Seals (3), and One Piston Seal, in nearly 45 Years of Hard Use, and it is ready for Many More.

That is the extent of My Knowledge in that area.

I run an old 5mm Sheridan pneumatic variable pump. It is sometimes a bit of a pain to get pellets, but the local gun store makes sure to keep me supplied when I need 'em.

They mostly had OTC meds but I was able to pull some good stuff.... lots of saline’s anti bacterial wipes, bandages, providone iodine wipes, wounds dressing changing kits and a really compact pocket sized first aid kit.

It’s all past expiration date, that’s why they were getting rid of it. but it’s all late 2018 and early 2019 stuff. Most it is just boosting my existing stash but I didn’t have any saline previously so that’s a plus

Nice find... Do you know what the FDA and WHO does when meds expire and are in short supply?
Extend the expiration date for another year or 2. I think it was 7 or 8 years ago the DHS released a report working with the FDA that showed most medication in pill form had an efficacy of about 90% after 10 years from Exp. Date.
IIRC the only things that should be avoided and had a much shorter shelf life are liquid medicine/injectable meds/life saving medication and tetricycline antibiotics that had a possible life threatening effect after expiration. This was only one person I believe but not worth the risk according to the study.

This study was published in public forum on DHS sites but was quickly taken down after people starting realizing the meds they're prescribed (if stored correctly in a cool dry place) were still effective in treating a potential outbreak or mass Cas. Incident that would need the kind of medication reserves the study covered.
I had this saved in cloud/drive form and other places like email and it is no longer available.
I've tried to search out this study a few times a year to see if its available and I can't find it. It was a great resource on shelf life and studies of medicines viability in a mass casualty or transportation halted scenario. #notadoctor

Great finds. I've been picking up some knowledge about knowing when certain meds are bad, based on color, look or even smell. But things like IV catheters or drip valves I've overheard are good as long as the package isn't damaged is sterile.

I'm gravely disappointed.

Seems like a good place to post: Meds past their expiration dates. Might be close to what you were thinking of?

No substantial additions, other than to snag a 36" SAM splint and SOL emergency bivvy for half price at what little remains of the soon-to-close Gander Outdoors nearby. They'd had some Adventure Medical Kits trauma kits (w\ QuikClot) last time I was there, but once they discounted everything 50% or more, those got snapped up. I'll probably stop in again tomorrow after work to grab a couple of other things. I reorganized my medical gear and "unassigned" tactical goodies, too.

Made a before-lunch grocery run and snagged various canned foods for the winter rotation, making the most of sale prices if the expiration dates were still a good way in the future.

Headed to the hardware store for a couple feet of 1/4" copper ground wire. I need to make some 1/4" rivets for a project, and they have to be non-ferrous.

Put up another two feet of chicken wire all the way around their yard. One of the hens kept getting out and laying in the woodpile. She’s gonna get mauled eventually. I’m hoping she doesn’t stop laying now that she can’t get to her spot...
