The Finns, during the Winter War with Russia, used this technique with great success!

Ambushes were set up around these to decimate the bogged down motor divisions of the Russian Army. A small and mobile force can hold down a much larger force for quite awhile.
The "Winter War" should be required course study.
Out manned and out gunned, then Finns gave the Ruskies a pretty good wooping.

One of the things I loved about my old place was just how inhospitable it really was.
Untreated Diesel looked like jello. Weak batteries would just moan.

There was only one viable road in. I actually did have trees marked. ones that if dropped, would fall across power lines and bring down the whole mess. Ones that leaned heavily in the proper direction. Fast and easy, no guess work.

I only saw it as a time buyer. they will get through.

A lot boils down to location and commitment.
The Russians were in Finland.
The Finns were "Home"

Much of the Russian Military might was debilitated by one of the worst winters in Finnish history.
The Finns used reindeer, No Jelling. They launched grenades with sticks and tire tubes. Cave Man Mortars.

Their ability to adapt to the environment was what gave them the advantage. They understood the climate, the terrain, and how to use it to their advantage.

"The White Death" deserves his own movie.
No where near as flamboyant as Mr. Rambo. but way more deadly.

In the end, you'll probably end up dead. But in the end, everyone dies anyway.
Write yourself off when you start, then you have nothing to lose.

Just be ready for discomfort and misery.
That will be on the good days.

The bad days will be much worse.

(Jayclimber, on living...)
Will use that tomorrow with the kids I'm tutoring math to....
From legendary occurrences at Fort Hood, it is amazing how fast the crew can unass a tank that has just had a live skunk dropped down the open hatch....

If the man actually said that, we may need to send some expert tree trimmers to Virginia in the near term.

Doubt I'll die on my feet, Branch. However, when the pile of spent brass topples over and smothers me, I'll be gone.... As to the quote on a card, a little work with the printer will let you do one yourself, amd make it your way. Freedom. The tech to do what you want to do when you want to do it.... Think I'll make a Valentine's Day card out of that, just for ST&G
