Told the wife last night that even if scientists suspect a huge quake is due they cannot just start panicking everyone by telling everyone.
Can you imagine The public Panic if they said that San Andreas or New Madrid was going to go off within 24 hours? Probably killed more people trying to evacuate than you would just not notifying anyone. Certainly the crime would be higher.

Re: New Madrid

John Casey gave the New Madrid an 80% chance of going off between 2017 and 2031 (if I remember correctly).

We know that, frequently, low pressure cells moving over a fault line can cause it to activate as low pressure cells transfer energy into the earth's crust.

We also know that the west coast (other end of the tectonic plate) has been under immense pressure basically all year long.

We also know that cosmic rays induce earthquakes. We're at the "modern maximum" for cosmic rays due to the GSM.

Barry is about to move right over the top of the New Madrid.

Lots of things are aligned for the New Madrid to get frisky.

Nobody can absolutely say it'll happen, but if it were to happen over the next week, we'll look back and say "well, should'a seen that coming."

It may be nothing but, I've noticed a few things around Camp NoFly that have me pondering the idea of NMSZ going off.
I've noticed the chickens acting weird and the honey bees are kind of bitchy.
The chickens just seem to be jittery all the time and the egg production is off a mite.
As to the bees...
In the past, I have been able to sit down on the hive stand next to the hive and nothing happens. I weed eat and mow around the hive and the bees didn't seem to mind.
I never had a problem changing the feeders out without PPE gear on. The bees were very calm.
Not this year.
So far this year, I've been stung more times than I have in the previous six years combined.
And I don't go into the bee yard without suiting up.
Probably has nothing to do with anything, but, it was something that I noticed.
