That's one of those things the state forces me to stay current on if I want a fancy permission slip to conduct service work outside the reach of the governing authorities.
GOMA, Congo, June 4 (Reuters) - Islamic State claimed responsibility on Tuesday for a deadly overnight attack in an area of eastern Congo hit by an Ebola epidemic, although its account of the violence differed from local reports.
The deputy mayor of Beni in the eastern Democratic of Congo said 13 civilians were killed late on Monday in an attack by the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) - a group thought to be linked to Islamic State.
"The victims were killed by bullets and others by bladed weapons," Mayor Modeste Bakwanamaha told Reuters.
Oh wonderful. Between the terrorists coming and leaving and the scattering of terrified remaining people in the area, that should "help" ebola spread into new, uncharted territory. Killing the victims with bladed weapons... and a 21-day incubation period for ebola symptoms, they could have spread the disease without knowing it until they have a fever hit, and the cough, vomiting and diarrhea start. Best hope - ISIS infects itself and self-destructs...
Yeah...that's where I'm about too...I'm going to be watching closely. I have a large international contingent with several from Africa. Would it be weird if I start asking them if they have been home in the last 30 days?

I've been a frequent flyer at the doctor lately. First question, before weight and blood pressure is, "have you been out of the country in the last 21 days?"
Uganda's reporting their first case, conveniently a Congolese child, but Uganda was impossible to get real data from with the last big outbreak and they fought any help from outside.
I'd ask any student that came into my office the 'so where ya been lately' question.
