B there wont be many mammals to hunt, if any will be small monkeys maybe some parrot. mostly reptile /amphibian on land,
Spear would be great as wolb be the bearded hatchet for hunting and structure building Lifeboat matches for emergency signial fires, and to light a fire you keep going. pot is always handy water and food processing. plenty of vegetation, shelter wouldn't be a issue, and from the vegetation , large fresh water source available. animal trap uses would depend on the style of trap it is, sides with the hatchet, I could make my own traps suitable to catch the available wild life...... looks to be a lot of coconut palm there, as well as the smaller variants, axe make palm heart and busting coconuts a lot easier than a Bowie knife.......

I'm going with B also.

On A, the tarp would rot fast in that heat and sun, the crossbow would be about useless after day 2 since I've very rarely ever found one of the bolts after firing a crossbow... The water tablets are just a convenience. 40 of them wouldn't work for a year anyway so it would just be a delay in setting up a purification system. The paracord would be helpful. The bowie knife wouldn't be as helpful as an axe would be.

On B, the pot has a number of uses, the matches would be helpful if used sparingly. The animal trap could be useful for any small critters that might be on the island and that would be a welcome change from seafood. The axe would be useful for firewood, stripping bark or vines for rope uses, opening coconuts, and could be finessed into cleaning fish, opening shellfish, etc. None of that would matter though because day three, I'd be overcome with an unending urge to try spearing a fish, would spear my foot and die of blood poisoning before sundown... But it would be a ton of fun right up until that point.

Always. Always go with the rum on a deserted island.

Now back to the quiz.

Yup B!
That stuff will cover your basics for a year.
The crossbow I think is fairly useless there.
Water tabs will only carry you so far without a clean source anyway.
The tarp, cord, and knife would be acceptable but I’d rather have lot B.

The axe (going to be your best friend) can be used to make just about everything you would need concerning shelter, weapons, etc...

The spear will be great for fishing and hunting.

The foot trap will be great for hunting/trapping animals.

The pot will be for boiling water (there should be a freshwater source somewhere on the island) and for cooking.

And matches... You're gonna need fire and matches make it easy (until there are no more) but on that island there should be plenty of materials for natural fire making.

Day one:
Using the axe, I'd get an initial natural shelter built (just inside the treeline) first using cut palms and natural cordage. Second I'd get materials gathered for a fire (not made yet but ready), then I'd recon the island for fresh water sources. Then back to camp and 🔥...

Day two:
I'd take to finding any game trails/signs of game and lay the animal trap and prepare any simple snares I can make from natural cordage and other resources (deadfalls, pits, etc). Time would be spent fishing with the spear and improving the initial shelter.

Day three:
More natural cordage making (going to need lots for a larger, more permanent shelter), checking traps, fishing, making of additional tools, more water procurement...
