Tomorrow, the 23rd of February, @AGreyMan and I are thinking We will have a Chat via OLIVIA Digital mode 16/500. Tune in with FLDigi loaded in a Laptop, and Your Shortwave tuned somewhere around 7027 up to 7125 KHz, Upper Sideband. Time to be announced, but probably around 2200-0200 ZULU (Coordinated Universal Time)

Everybody can look at the ZULU time from wherever they might be, and talk about time with No Mental Gymnastics required. 2200 Zulu is the same instant everywhere. It really makes things easier for folks scattered all over the Globe, and in Space.

Yes, you could.

It's called "audio coupling." In the video above, the laptop microphone "hears" the warbling tones coming out of the radio speaker and decodes them into text. That's your receive with audio coupling.

Your transmit via audio coupling is typing in the lower window of FLDigi, and hit "transmit" on FLDigi. The tones will come out of the laptop speaker, and you key the microphone and hold it by the laptop speakers.

Quick and dirty. Also a PITA, and most folks get an interface to make the process less cumbersome and more sensitive to faint signals.

I included a few surprises with your radio and accoutrements!

Here is an UpDate:

Looks like time will be circa 1800 Hours, CENTRAL TIME ZONE, Plus/Minus...

So, 7:00 PM on East Coast, 6:00 PM in Central Time Zone, 5:00 PM in Mountain Time Zone, and 4:00 PM on the West Coast...or Thereabouts.

Again, We usually start out at 7027 KHz, and move (QSY) as dictated by interfering stations or noise levels, or conditions.

Reminder for Newbees: Digital part of 40 Meter Band extends from 7.025 (for General Licensees) to 7.125 MHz.

Anybody gonna give a try at listening/decoding?

Do Matt (@AGreyMan ) and/or Me (@HandLoad ) a favor, willya? Post a Signal Report, about how clear our signals are heard where You are...

That will help us learn about our radiated power with respect to direction from our respective Antennas.

I have had to remount My antenna after Snow Damage, and am interested if it is as good or better! Than it was before destruction.

Can listen via WebSDR.
I’m trying a station out of NJ. Which is a close an I can find to me.
Can see and tune the waterfall fine but can’t seem to get any audio.
Working on it that now.

Awesome! If you can get audio out, you can likely hear us. If you have dowloaded and installed FLDigi, you can likely decode us!
