Rebuilding a clay tile roof..

This must be one hell of a heavy roof.. they replaced some wood and left other stuff alone, which I don't get.

Pick up some of the saltillo floor pavers if you want an idea what that tile roof is going to weigh.

I respect the skill and technique involved in doing this to keep it traditional. I am a big fan of steel roofing now
because it is quick and fairly adult proof.. they don't get a lot of snow in that part of France I'm guessing..

I only mostly saw those in southern France, Spain and coastal Italy. But then I am not all that well traveled.
