back in the 80s if you were rural you could buy dynamite for farm use. here in SC.
take a 2" pipe drive it down deep as ya could or drill with a ground auger, water it down for a day, all 4 holes half a stick, 4 points pop it out like a tooth and leave a clean hole. oak, pine, hickory what ever. I used to love when "bulldawg" Tom Watkins would call me for a stump poppin day. that was fun.
