New rugged phone. Sonim vs cat

I've been shopping unlocked Facebook free phones and thought I was set on the sonim xp8, then I saw this. It's got a laser ranger and thermal camera I would use at minimum weekly. Probably daily.

Thoughts? Other recommendations I could be missing?

That's cool... If you have the fiats for it I say it's a win. Plus if using for work you'll obviously write it off as a work expense.
