So you get very little rut action during gun season? Early ML season popular?

Generally none during gun season, little late rut activity.

Traditionally Iowa was a deer push state, lots of deer drives. Has become more stand hunts these days. Bow hunting is huge here, and a lot of people muzzleload. But bow is like 90k tags and gun is like 250k tags. With usually just over 100k deer harvested yearly.
Buy it is the land of the Giants, and we protect our deer herd pretty hard.

Well it's a been a terrible season for me. I hunted hard every weekend. Just haven't seen much that was atleast a year old. Finally took one tonight though. 1st deer with the new 350 legend

Turkey doesn't open here until May1st. I've seen several big toms strutting this week though. They are all twitterpated already.
