Nutritional analysis... using molasses. Their write up says you can use any sweetner but the value of the drink is with it based on molasses. Molasses brings a lot of things to the nutrition table that no sugar does and certainly no artificial sweetner does. If you cannot get real molasses (not the mixed with sugar water stuff from China), honey is your next best choice, but this recipe works because of the molasses. Molasses adds calcium, iron, potassium, vitamin B6, and some of the trace minerals.

For a one cup serving, percentages are minimum daily requirements at a 2000k cal diet and does not take into account the amount of those nutrients lost in heavy labor in hot weather (or sitting in a porch swing in the deep south in July.)

Calories: 93

Vitamin B6 11%
Calcium 7%
Iron 8%
Magnesium 20%
Potassium 13%
Copper 9%
Manganese 25%
Selenium 8%

edited to add iron, left it off the list...

@240Geezer, I first thought it was going to be the 'other' kind of drink too. :)

If you could add a 1/2 cup of orange or lemon juice (fresh preferably) to that recipe, it would also boost the vitamin C, Vitamin B5, Folic Acid, Vitamin B6, and Vitamin B1. All of those are water soluble vitamins which need to be replenished when you are sweating.
