Local papers put out a casting call for Mexican families for a Mexican wedding scene for ”Dutton Ranch.”

Today was my rodeo day and I saw Buck Taylor again. He said he is really excited about Marshals. Said he loves Luke Grimes and he’s a good guy. He also talked a little bit about the other show with Kurt Russell and Michelle Pfeiffer. He has a gorgeous watercolor giclee of Kurt as Wyatt Earp. I bought one of those prints but they have to ship it to me.

What was so funny is there were several folks waiting for him to arrive. There was a tv showing scenes from his various roles, and 2005 “The Fog” pops up. I’m standing there stunned because I didn’t remember him being in that movie. I’m totally engrossed with the tv and someone slips up right next me and says “Do you like Yellowstone?” In this husky voice. (I was wearing a Yellowstone hat and a t-shirt that says “Yellowstone is my favorite season.”) And I’m like what the hell and I turn and it’s Buck standing two inches from me laughing 😂

The other thing I thought was cool was he was talking about his role as Emmett in Yellowstone. He said the actual cowboys in Montana laughed about how unrealistic the show was and it was basically the mafia on horseback. Buck said his character was a tribute to the real Montana cowboys. Said that’s how they want to go - on the trail on a mountainside like Emmett. There were about two or three other people listening and talking by that point. We were all saying how we all teared up when Emmett died, and then I said I teared up again when they got back to camp and Kevin Costner tells his wife that he died. Buck started laughing and said, “Did you know I never met my wife? We shot on two separate days so I never met her!” LOL

He was full of spit and fire as usual…also told a story about accidentally meeting Elvis! He’s slowing down a bit, but still doing well. He will turn 88 this year. This was my 27th year to go visit him at the Stock Show.

This doesn't quite fit this thread but yesterday I did a tour of the Mescal Movie set. It is in the middle of the desert outside of Benson Az. The company that had it, stopped using it and it fell into severe disrepair. Az law said that if its not being used then they needed to tear it down because it's on state owned land. A local wealthy family named the Kartchners took it over to save it. Now volunteers are restoring the buildings and it's back in use. 11 movies, videos and commercials were filmed there in 2025 alone.

This is where Tombstone was filmed. Many, many other iconic shows were filmed there also. Winchester 73', Gunsmoke movies, Rawhide, Cimmaron, The Outlaw Josie Wales, Stagecoach and Quick and the Dead just to name a few.

The total list and pictures of the building can be seen here:

I absolutely loved it and I am thankful someone stepped up to keep it alive.

They owned the land where Kartchner Caverns were discovered.

We finally watched the 2nd episode of "marshals" wife pointed out that Kacey is always looking and sounding misserable. I've only seen him in other movie. He was in the magnificent seven. And I realized he was like that too. Just no emotion, mono tone depressed looking.
