SOLAR WIND, INCOMING: A stream of solar wind is approaching Earth. Estimated time of arrival: April 11-12. The gaseous material is flowing from a southern hole in the sun's atmosphere, and could spark auroras around the Arctic Circle when it reaches our planet. Aurora alerts: SMS Text.

WHERE THE POWER GOES OUT: A solar superstorm can make your lights go out. New maps released by the USGS show where the power is most likely to fail: The Denver metropolitan area, the Pacific northwest, the Atlantic seaboard, and a cluster of Midwestern states near the US-Canadian Border. Bright yellow and orange trace the trouble spots across the contiguous USA:

Genny test ran on schedule today. I need to get it's first annual service done... but I'm hoping to start plowing tomorrow. And planting every day thereafter.
I absolutely love the weekly maintenance cycle feature on my generac. It sends me a report every Wednesday that says my unit is operating normally. Runs for 10 minutes. I just wish it was diesel instead of propane.

It's noon. Power's still up in NW Arkansas, though the map didn't suggest problems here anyhow. @HandLoad, how are things up your way?

Maine looks like the major failure point on the link posted.
3:00 PM here in Northern Pa. Power on/all good.

I have beer, potted meat and saltines.
Not feeling the worry on this one.
