ok thats a chain motor aint to rough to change. but where is the leak coming from and have you done a bubble test.
No, I haven’t. I am not familiar with the bubble test.

also have you done a leak down test. and do you have a air compressor that will hold 100psi line pressure min.
Local mechanic did one, and said it didn’t lose pressure, but the coolant is going SOMEWHERE. There are no puddles on the ground, doesn’t come from anywhere while idling, oil isn’t grossly contaminated...

and are you sure that its not the inlet water tube(drivers side front inside corner of the head under intake spider)or one of the external freeze plugs leaking all are steel all rot with salt. if i seem to ask a stupid question its because i dont have paws on the engine.
I can’t be 100% sure about the specific spots, but as I said, no puddles. Before the Blue Devil I would full up with 12 gallons of unleaded and 1 gallon of coolant, so it wouldn’t be a small leak, I figure.

Yes both. One head cracked. Probably from over heating caused by thr other head having a gasket leak
steam pocket. alloy aint like cast iron in that respect, it trasfurs heat fast but alloy has no memory. you heat cast iron up it will return almost to true. slight shave maybe. maybe stone. alloy heads? when they warp if its over .060 they pretty much done.i think newer one are max.025

I will almost bet you money that its the seal on that goose neck and not the head. PM me, I will send you my # if you dont have it and call me tomorrow. they way that engine is designed, its almost impossible to blow a headgasket without turning the oil to milk or fogging skeeters out the exhaust. just the way the block is put together.

Yep... Does anyone use cast for heads these days? Seems like a thing of the past. Gota make everything lighter now
