I am very interested to see how you harvest the wheat! This is such a cool experiment!

So with a 1,500 square foot wheat plot, I could get enough wheat to bake fifteen loaves of bread, If the wind is at my back, the stars are aligned and Al Gore stays in Tennessee.

Math question: if 10 sqft makes 1 loaf, why would 1500 sqft only make 15 loaves? I’m thinking 150 loaves given great results with harvest, star alignment, etc.

How much corn are you planting?

I've opened the big garden up where we usually grow the corn. Last year is was sweet corn and the damn coons ate it all.
This year it will be regular old field corn.
Probably enough to harvest a couple of thousand ears.

We're getting good rain fall right now so God get's the credit for the wheat.

Somewhen back a ways. I posted report on Buddy and My experiment with Feed grain, grinding (or not) and making and eating Breads, cereal meals, flatbreads, tortillas, from sacks of various Feeds. Went surprisingly well, and edible!

Yea...It seems to be coming right along.
I've been meaning to post some pics, (I've actually already taken the photos, just haven't posted them) showing the stalks.
Everything is in the "Amber Waves of Grain" stage right now, with the stalks and heads starting to mature.
When the heads start curling over, it will be ready to harvest.

Well...I got about half of the wheat cut before the boomers started booming.
i wanted to get what I had cut so far into shelter (green house) to keep it from getting soaked.
Cutting wheat with a frickin' hedge trimmer sucks big time!
i figured that out right away.
