Never had a critter go under mine, unless I got lazy and didn't move it when I noticed there was some digging going on. Same with not maintaining staples/chicken wire that gets rusty and weak. Something will test it and find a weak stopt if I'm not looking for it and fixing it first.

I second HandLoad. It seems as though the “brain“ is seeing the generator voltage, not the battery voltage. May be a setting, but I don’t know for sure.
