British DPM “smock” arrived today. Fresh off the boat (Er plane) from Finland.
Little large but being just a shell there’s plenty of room for layers and “accessories” under it. Hood is plentiful enough to get a
“Hard hat” under it. Does not have the large arm pocket. But a very small one. Just right for a small torch.
Cheerio!

The normal Thursday house frock with the pink gardenias on it, I assume.

Been a busy couple days couple days for us around the new place, even though we still haven’t actually moved

Finished extracting all of our honey last night, I think we wound up with 5ish gallons. It’s a very dark and flavorful honey! Wife posted a picture of it draining from the extractor into a bucket, just commenting how excited we are to harvest this year. Now we’ve gotten a deluge of requests to buy some! I’ll get some pictures and a write-up in the the topside section, just to build content.

Also at the new place, Someone from our church saw wife’s post and said they’d trade us 8 chickens that just started laying for some honey, and sell us their $300 coop for $75. So, obviously, we’re getting chickens!!! I think it’s 7 hens and a rooster, a mix of Rhode Island reds and Rocks. I’ll be starting a topside thread for that as well.

All of this talk of posting topside is provided I find a little free time.

ETA: highlighted word was autocorrected to make it a lie.. Now it’s correct

Finally got my freeze dried stuff out of my storage unit and into the apartment, did a full inventory. Not nearly enough but I suppose it’s a start. I plan on adding more very soon.

Next step is inventorying the MREs and also stocking up our actual pantry. The small space limits us to about 2 weeks in the cabinets but we are finding more space as we go along.

Reorganizing and culling the herd of things not needed before the freeze comes.
Anyone have a use for 8 posts set in concrete that I dug up last year?
Between 4&7 feet above the ground.
Was thinking of making a small raised platform on them. For what I have no idea.
🤣🤣🤣

Rounded up walmart bags and wax to make machinable wax for lost wax casting. Finally used up the last batch, so it's time for more. If there's interest, I'll post a thread on it next week.

240Geezer, have you thought of putting together that pedestal to hold frangible targets like overripe cantelope or watermelon, for letting the kids shoot the .223s?

Great idea. Lost wax casting is definitely a major step in the production of things we will lose once all the SHTF. I am really interested in that. I toured the Ruger factory in AZ and that is what they used to produce the "chassis" of their product. Very clever system. I learned it from a dental tech when I was in OKinawa in 1971. He made jewelry from tiny bits of leftover gold that couldn't be used to make "teeth". In those days we had no shortage of 1964 and before coins so the silver was plentiful and we'd mix the two to make things. I still have one of the gold bands I used for a wedding ring. (Guess I don't need that now.)
Anyway, a thread on this is a great idea. I vote YES!!!!
